Emily Goodson, LMSW
Licensed Therapist
Life is full of transitions, challenges, and moments that push us beyond our comfort zone. Whether you're navigating the pressures of school, athletics, relationships, or simply trying to figure out your next step, Emily is passionate about helping clients build the confidence and resilience to move forward with purpose.
Emily specializes in working with teenagers, young adults, and athletes who are facing anxiety, depression, performance pressure, stress, and major life changes. She believes therapy is a place to slow down, gain perspective, and discover practical strategies that help you thrive, not just get by.
Using a client-centered approach, Emily incorporates evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care to create a personalized experience for every client. She strives to foster an environment where clients feel encouraged, challenged, and empowered to reach their goals while staying true to who they are.
Whether you're working toward improved mental wellness, overcoming obstacles, or striving to become the best version of yourself, Emily is committed to helping you build the skills and confidence to take on whatever comes next.
What are you currently loving?
I'm loving sewing. I'm in my grandma hobby era - learning to love activities that slow me down, are intentional, and allow me to be creative.
What is one thing you wish every athlete knew about mental health?
As a former athlete, I wish that every athlete knew that training their brain is just as important as training their body. Whether they are practicing mental self care or overcoming a mental block in their sport, it's important to have support for their mental health.
What is something you admire about your clients?
I am constantly in awe of my clients' resilience in choosing to move forward everyday. It's admirable that they admit to struggling and take the steps to better their lives.
